We’re a small village in the heart of County Monaghan, but we’ve lots going on….
Whether you’re thinking of coming to live here, or are just coming to visit, Doohamlet has lots to offer.
Located halfway between Castleblayney and Ballybay on the Regional Road R183, we’re easy to get to. Why not spend a while in our new community park, our community biodiversity garden, or the local pub.
We have an excellent national school, with pre-school and childcare facilities, and a fantastic local creche. Our community centre has been redeveloped and offers modern facilities for the whole community to use. Doohamlet All Saints RC Church and Graveyard is a focal point for the area, with a monument to the late Fr. Scahill within it’s grounds. Doohamlet O Neill’s is the local and very successful Gaelic Football Club, which has produced many county players, including the Monaghan Team Captain and 2013 All-Star Colin Walshe. Connolly’s B&B and Guesthouse or Alice’s Loft will offer comfortable lodgings for anyone staying a while.
We have plenty of successful local businesses, including Doohamlet Motors, NRG Panel, Eurotech, Lakeland Nurseries, Quality Stoves and Fireplaces and Doohamlet Construction.
Every year we have lots of fun community events, including a Family Fun Day, a monster Bazaar and Santa’s visit to Doohamlet.
